SERVING
Serving is a large focus of Waypoint Church. We are blessed through the love and sacrifice of our Christ Jesus. As such, we strive to show that love to others by serving. We have the ability to serve our local community as well as other parts of the nation and globe. Missions, domestic and abroad, is something we are actively looking into and continuing to take part in as well. As long as we have the resources to serve, we will, and if we do not yet have the resources, we will work to acquire them so we can continue to meet the needs of those God has called us to.
SERVING OUR LOCAL COMMUNITY
Serving our local community is a large focus of Waypoint Church. We are blessed to live in a diverse, multi-faceted part of Kansas City where we are able to fill the needs of certain entities around us. We are constantly looking for ways to not only invite community members into our church, but we are also looking for ways to get out ourselves and help where we can.

1
WILLIAM SOUTHERN ELEMENTARY SCHOOL
William Southern Elementary School has been a focus at our church for many years. Each year we work to:
-
Provide backpacks and school supplies for every single student
-
Provide Christmas Dinner and gifts for over a dozen families through our Night of Hope
-
We look for opportunities to serve staff by providing meals on Professional Development days and Teacher Survival Kits to help get them through the year
-
We actively pray for individual staff members weekly
We are thankful to the teachers and staff at William Southern and look forward to our continual partnership!

CENTERPOINT MEDICAL CENTER
Our relationship with Centerpoint began when Covid hit in 2020. There was a clear, immediate need to reach out to workers on the frontline and show them they were not alone in the fight. We did this by:
-
Providing 600 individual snacks with fun and uplifting messages once a week along
-
Praying a whole lot

We currently work to collect clothes for patients, offer prayer, and provide snacks on a monthly basis. We love our doctors, nurses, and staff at Centerpoint and look forward to aiding this community for years to come.

GOD'S BUCKET BRIGADE
God's Bucket Brigade is a wonderful operation that was started in our backyard of Kansas City. Buckets with hygiene and other supplies are given to homeless in metro areas. The founder believes that by showing someone cares enough to meet someone's physical needs, spiritual needs can be met as well. Now, the organization is in multiple cities nationwide sharing the Gospel with thousands of people per year.

We have partnered with GBB for over a year and plan to pack 100 buckets in September of this year as part of our Missions Month. Come join us!
SERVING ABROAD
Serving abroad is another large goal of Waypoint Church. We are called to serve far and wide, not just in our own communities, so with each new year we strive to add to our growing list of operations.

OPERATION CHRISTMAS CHILD
Operation Christmas Child is a worldwide organization that provides gifts and the good news of Christ to thousands of children each year. Children are not only provided with stuffed animals, toys, socks, hygiene products and other goodies, but they are also given a workbook that they can choose to complete to learn about God and his son, Jesus Christ.

For over 12 years our church has packed hundreds if not thousands of boxes. Items are collected throughout the year and then packed in boxes before the third week of November. If you feel called to pack a box or help with this ministry, feel free to use the form on the "Contact" Page or talk to Susanne Freeman.

BOLIVIA MISSIONS
Bolivia is a place near and dear to our church because the granddaughter of one of our longtime church members, Haleigh Vargas along with her husband Luis and their son, are stationed there serving as missionaries.

We have supported them financially and through prayer these last few years and plan to continue to do so!

MEXICO MISSIONS
Mexico is on our church's heart because our current worship and youth pastor, Tim Buchannan and his wife Brianna, will soon be permanent missionaries in the country.

We have promised to provide prayer and financial support as they work to reach the people of Mexico. Though we are sad to see them go, we know they are needed where they are going. Hasta que nos volvamos a encontrar!
