OUR CORE BELIEFS
Our Core Beliefs are the foundation of what we do. At Waypoint Church, we uphold certain values and beliefs.

Even though we are a non-denominational, our history and roots are Baptist. This means that above all, our faith and practice are governed by God's Word. In all things we seek to follow the guidance of Scripture, the leading of the Holy Spirit, and the counsel of fellow Believers.

Each of these areas of belief and our governing structure are explored deeper in our Equip process. Explore and sign up for our next Intro to Waypoint Class here.
ABOUT GOD
There is only one true and living God who is the Creator and Ruler of the universe. He has existed for all eternity and reveals Himself to us as Father, Son and Holy Spirit. These three are co-equal and are one God.
ABOUT JESUS
Jesus Christ is the Son of God. He lived a sinless human life and offered Himself as the perfect sacrifice for our sins by dying on the cross. He arose from the dead and will return again to earth to reign as King of kings and Lord of lords.
ABOUT HOLY SPIRIT
ABOUT MAN
The Holy Spirit is equal with the Father and the Son as God. He lives in every Christian from the moment of salvation and provides the Christian with power for living.
Man is made in the image of God but has been marred and separated from God by sin. God loves mankind more than anything and offers salvation to all through Jesus Christ.
ABOUT SALVATION
Salvation is the gift of God's grace to man. It is only through Jesus Christ that man can have a personal relationship with God.
ABOUT THE BIBLE
The Bible is God's Word written by human authors under the inspiration of God's Holy Spirit. It is the supreme source of truth without any mixture of error in the original manuscripts.
ABOUT THE CHURCH
The church is the Body of Christ in the world today. Its purpose is to connect people to God through a personal relationship with Jesus Christ and to connect each member in spiritual growth and ministry.
The church practices 2 ordinances: Baptism and the Lord’s Supper – Baptism (by immersion) is the 1st act of obedience of a Believer in Christ, proclaiming to the world one’s Salvation and incorporation into the Body of Christ. The Lord’s Supper is a remembrance of the Sacrifice of Christ, a proclamation of His Sacrifice, and a looking
forward to the grand Fellowship banquet Believers will one day enjoy with Christ.
ABOUT THE PURPOSE OF BELEIVERS
We would describe the purpose of all Believers as living out the missionary mandate to obey the Great Commission with the passion of the Great Commandment – Such a life, both individual and corporate, will be fueled by worship, sustained through ministry, encouraged through fellowship, empowered and guided through prayer, and accomplished through discipleship.
